Classes and Camps

RISING KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE READING AND WRITING SUMMER CAMP: This morning camp will be led by two teachers and uses researched based, proven successful methodology in an exciting, game-based format. We will cover the following:

• Building phonemic awareness skills (ie. rhyming, identifying sounds in words, etc.)
• Developing correct letter formation (focusing first on lower case letters)
• Reading and spelling words (taught in a systematic progression)
• Reading high frequency words automatically
• Improving listening and reading comprehension
• Improving visual perceptual, visual-motor, and graphomotor skills

Incorporated throughout the camp session is a strong emphasis on: remaining on task (maintaining attention), developing language and communication skills, and developing appropriate classroom social skills.

Who:	Children entering kindergarten and 1st grade
When:	Session 1: June 19 – June 30 (Monday-Friday 9:00 – 11:30 am)
	Session 2: August 14 – August 25 (Monday-Friday 9:00 – 11:30 am)
